This lounge chair was born from the fusion of traditional manufacturing methods and modern design, based on a traditional Finnish chair. Made from sturdy birch wood from Finland, it was designed as a chair for residential and everyday use. It looks like a straight spoke chair made from a wooden pole using traditional manufacturing methods, but the seat is soft and smoothly curved. Ilmari Tapiovaara was inspired by the traditional Finnish chair, and added his modernist ideas and the latest technology of the time to it, sublimating it into a new design.
