This table lamp is designed by Italian designer Ferruccio Laviani, who served as the art director of Kartell. It is a design like a light sculpture that reproduces the natural texture of nature. The abstract shape of the light, which looks like both hands are wrapping around it, looks as if it was sculpted by an artisan. It creates a chiaroscuro effect, an artistic expression that makes the shape of an object stand out three-dimensionally with the light and dark, as if the irregular light is spilling and casting a shadow on the wall. Aiming for a very natural texture like terracotta or ceramic, the material chosen is irregular and porous to the touch.
