ENISHI GLASS SET SUKE - KUROURUSHI
The transparency of the glass and the elegance of the black lacquer applied to the stems combine to create a pair of wine glasses that will create a quality time. The fluctuating form unique to handmade products reflects the light and makes the drinks look beautiful. COCHI is a tableware brand created by artists who inherit the beauty of Japan and Japanese craftsmen. "ENISHI" is a series of glassware handmade by glass artists and black lacquer applied by lacquer artisans. The organic curves that make you want to pick them up are created using the mid-air glass blowing technique, in which air is blown into glass heated to a high temperature through a blowing rod to create the shape. Each piece is carefully blown by the artist (Mitsuhiro Hara), so each one has a unique shape. Since each piece is made by hand, there may be slight differences in shape and dimensions, but please understand that this is the taste of handmade products. The rims are hand-painted with black lacquer by lacquer artisans in Sabae. The black color of the lacquer that draws you in creates a mysterious depth when layered on top of the glass, giving it a texture that feels warm. The natural material lacquer changes color and luster over time. It is a vessel that grows beautifully in the lifestyle of each person who uses it. Artist: Hara Mitsuhiro / MITSUHIRO HARA Born in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture, after graduating from high school, he traveled around Japan on his motorcycle. He became interested in glass craft and joined "The Glass Studio in Otaru" in Hokkaido. After studying under Asahara Chiyoji, he built the kiln "Glass Art Yumeya" in his hometown. At COCHI, he produces glassware for "ENISHI | Edge". Source: https://flymee.jp/
