The pole clock (1972) at Dai-ichi Life's headquarters, which still stands at Hibiya intersection, is a masterpiece by Watanabe Riki, acknowledged by both himself and others. Its simple and powerful design, cut down to the bare minimum, and its high visibility made it a model for public clocks. In 2012, the 40th anniversary of the clock, a personal size was redesigned and it was added to the Lemnos collection as the "Hibiya Clock." It is a clock with a definite presence.
