HOLA
"HOLA," designed by Kazuo Kawasaki in 1988, is a timeless masterpiece of the "GANBARA" series. As a representative clock of the 20th century and as an art piece that goes beyond the concept of clocks, it is highly regarded around the world, being permanently stored at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum as "'THE CLOCK' that best expresses the 20th century," and is also permanently preserved in many other museums. It was reproduced in 2006 to commemorate the "artificial heart: Kazuo Kawasaki" exhibition held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. This clock has no numbers. The disk has a dimpled part that resembles a celestial body, and the hand indicates the "minutes" and the dimple indicates the "hours." It was developed to express the intimacy between celestial bodies and time, just like humans who knew the time by watching the sun and moon in the days before clocks. It won the Good Design Award in 1989. Source: https://flymee.jp/
