HAKO HS-3
There is a box inside a box. A shelf with free possibilities that can be used in many different ways by rearranging the boxes. HAKO, a free-standing rack that allows each independent box to be rearranged freely, won the Maple Leaf Award at the 2011 design competition of the International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa (IFDA). HS-3 can be used as a TV stand that fits perfectly with a flat-screen TV when placed horizontally, or as a slim rack that fits into a gap when placed vertically. The outer box comes in two colors, black and cherry, and the inner box comes in two colors, oak and maple. The outer box does not have a base, so it can be placed either vertically or horizontally. The inner box is beautifully finished to make use of the wood grain, so it can be used without being placed in the outer box. You can enjoy rearranging the inner boxes vertically or horizontally to suit the space, scene, and purpose. The corners of the inner box are smoothly rounded, making them easy to grab when removing items. The edges of the inner box are beveled inwards to give a clean look, and this piece also highlights Asahikawa furniture's attention to detail. International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa (IFDA) Asahikawa, Hokkaido, is a producer of high-quality wood and one of Japan's leading furniture production areas. The International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa has been held every three years since 1990 with the aim of proposing and promoting a new lifestyle culture, and designers from Japan and around the world participate in the fair, competing to create new and excellent wooden furniture designs. The designs are realized by Asahikawa furniture manufacturers with their excellent technical capabilities, discovering new possibilities for wooden furniture. Source: https://flymee.jp/
