"HAMON" was born from a collaboration with the world-renowned industrial designer, Kiyoyuki Okuyama. It expresses a wave pattern spreading out in layers, like a ring floating on the surface of the water. The gradation is created by the length of the thread and the weaving method, and the texture of the wool and the three-dimensional composition give the pattern a sense of depth even though it is a single color. It exudes a luxurious and calm atmosphere, and one of its charms is that the expression changes with the sunlight, creating a rich shadow. [Designer's Line - Kiyoyuki Okuyama -] The collaboration between Kiyoyuki Okuyama, who is from Yamagata City, and Yamagata Dantsu began in 2006, triggered by Okuyama's desire to promote manufacturing in Yamagata.
