CLASSIC LINE ebikazura hosoge
"Ebikazura Hosohana" is based on the motif of the flower carpet (a woolen fabric with a pattern) that was a treasure of the Shosoin Repository, which was built in the Nara period. Ebikazura is an old name for grapes, and Hosohana is a pattern of imaginary flowers that developed along with Buddhist culture. This beautiful piece features a symmetrical arabesque pattern in indigo and red. This hand-woven carpet can only be woven about 7 to 8 cm in a day. The pattern is carved to make the outline stand out and give it a three-dimensional look, and the skilled craftsman manipulates electric scissors while changing the angle and direction. The carpet is finished with a mercerized finish to give it a glossy finish, and the fibers are softened by careful brushing, giving it a glossy and smooth texture. [Classic Line] A series of beautiful designs based on Japanese classics. This is a delicate hand-woven carpet woven with the history and technology of Yamagata Dantsu. A skilled craftsman hand ties each stitch of wool and then stacks them layer by layer to complete the weaving. Source: https://flymee.jp/
