Murai Stool
This hexagonal stool won an honorable mention at the 1st Tendo Mokko Furniture Competition held in 1961. "Murai" is named after the designer Reiko Tanabe's maiden name. It is a masterpiece that has been selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. The simple and beautiful shape, which combines three identical pieces of molded plywood without using metal fittings, was realized by bringing together the best of Tendo Mokko's advanced craftsmanship. The beautiful grain of the teak wood meets toward the center, and the finishing details are also carefully crafted. The geometric design, which looks like a folded surface, means that the top surface remains horizontal no matter which side is down, making it stable to use. It can be used as a chair, side table, magazine rack, or even stacked to create a shelf. It is a stool that stimulates the user's imagination. Good Design Award winner Source: https://flymee.jp/
