Miniatures Collection Panton Chairs (Set of 5)
For over 20 years, the Vitra Design Museum has been creating miniatures of historic furniture designs from its collection. The lineup covers the history of furniture, from Art Nouveau to Bauhaus designs, and from postmodernism to contemporary works. The "Miniature Collection", which reduces the original works to 1/6 size, faithfully reproduces every detail, including structure, materials, and color. With a high level of detail, including reproduction of parts such as screws, natural wood grain, and hand-crafted craftsmanship, the miniature collection is used not only as a collector's item but also as an important resource for universities, design schools, and architects. Inspired by pop art and pop culture, furniture design in the 1960s broke with the functionalism of modernism. The use of new materials freed furniture from traditional structural constraints, allowing designers to play imaginatively with shapes and colors. Young designers like Verner Panton presented futuristic interiors at international furniture fairs of the time that suited a free, carefree, and hedonistic lifestyle. The Panton Chair is today considered one of the masterpieces of modern furniture design. It was the first chair in the history of design to have no back legs and be made entirely from plastic. It took nearly 12 years to bring it to mass production. Source: https://flymee.jp/
