Miniatures Collection RAR
For over 20 years, the Vitra Design Museum has been creating miniatures of historic furniture designs from its collection. From Art Nouveau to Bauhaus designs, and from postmodernism to contemporary works, the lineup covers the history of furniture. The "Miniature Collection", which reduces the original works to 1/6 size, faithfully reproduces every detail, including structure, materials, and color. With a high level of detail, including reproduction of parts such as screws, natural wood grain, and handcrafted craftsmanship, the miniature collection is used not only as a collector's item, but also as an important reference for universities, design schools, and architects. The fiberglass chair is a unique example of the successful combination of shape and technological innovation. For the first time in design history, Charles and Ray Eames applied the infinite possibilities of plastic to develop a comfortable seat shell that fits the human body. The idea of creating a three-dimensional molded shell dates back to 1940. Initially, they tried to manufacture it with plywood, but gave up. With the advent of fiberglass technology, the first fiberglass chairs were produced in 1950. After years of experimentation, Charles and Ray Eames finally succeeded in their goal of mass-producing a chair that was cheap, durable, and comfortable.
