For over 20 years, the Vitra Design Museum has been producing miniatures of historic furniture designs from its collection. The lineup covers the history of furniture, from Art Nouveau to Bauhaus designs, and from postmodernism to contemporary works. The Miniature Collection, which is a 1/6 scale reproduction of the original works, faithfully reproduces every detail, including structure, materials, and color. With a high level of detail, including reproduction of parts such as screws, natural wood grain, and handcrafted craftsmanship, the miniatures are not only collector's items, but also important reference materials for universities, design schools, and architects. Jean Prouvé, an architect, engineer, and designer, created innovative structures and shapes using advanced metal processing techniques. This knowledge influenced the development of lightweight prefabricated buildings, especially in the manufacture of aircraft and automobiles. Atelier Jean Prouvé, which he founded in 1947, designed and manufactured not only building materials but also furniture. In 1955, he took part in a competition to design the furniture for the university town of Antony near Paris, and together with Charlotte Perriand, he produced furniture for the leisure centre, cafeteria and student dormitories. For this project, Antony was produced as a redesign of a chair originally designed for the university town of Strasbourg in 1950. Source: https://flymee.jp/
