MAM DISH PLATE Shigaraki ware plate
This plate is made of Shigaraki ware, one of the six ancient kilns in Japan, produced in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. The warm texture, overflowing with the "smell of earth," is a great attraction not found in other pottery. Shigaraki ware has many types of glazes, and conveys the taste of wabi-sabi as an art woven by earth and fire. To make the earth look more beautiful, a glossy glass-like glaze is used on the front side, and the edges are finished in a matte finish. The two-tone color makes the color of the intersecting pools interesting. Please note that there are individual differences in the color.
