The "A201 Pendant" was designed for the library of Seinazzaro Town Hall, a representative building by Alvar Aalto, completed in 1952. The beautiful design, which resembles a sculpture made of welded steel plates, was a favorite of the Aalto couple, who designed three variations for their own home. The design, which emits light from both the top and bottom of the shade, embodies Aalto's ideal of artificial lighting that emits a gentle, soft light like indirect lighting.
