KIKI SOFA 2-seater Category F40 Mello
Kiki sofa designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1960. Its simple design and compact size make it easy to use in any space. Creating designs for everyone, not just a select few, was Ilmari Tapiovaara's lifelong goal. The frame is based on an oval steel tube. The story goes that the manufacturer of oval steel tubes approached Tapiovaara to design a product that could utilize the large amount of stock that was left over in the factory. The simple, lean, and sophisticated design was highly praised, and the sofa won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1960.
