[Normally in stock in Japan] Kiki sofa designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1960. The simple design and compact size make it easy to use in any space. Creating designs for everyone, not just a select few, was Ilmari Tapiovaara's lifelong goal. The frame is based on an oval steel tube. The story goes that the manufacturer of oval steel tubes approached Tapiovaara to design a product that could utilize the large amount of stock that was left over in the factory. The simple, lean, and sophisticated design was highly praised, and the sofa won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1960.
