One stamp chopstick rest
This chopstick rest is designed with the motif of "yakumono" (punctuation marks) used in printing, such as full stops, punctuation marks, and decorative lines. "Inban" is a method of transferring a pattern onto washi paper with gosu, then dyeing it onto bisque pottery with a wet brush, then applying glaze and firing. During the late Edo and Meiji periods, blue-patterned porcelain was mass-produced using this method, but because it was handmade, it was becoming rare. With this chopstick rest, we paid particular attention to every detail so that you can enjoy the nuances that only inban can provide, each one being slightly different. The glossy white material is Hasami ware, made using domestic ceramic stone. The transparency of the glaze applied over the transferred pattern further enhances its beauty.
