Stamped chopstick rest rising sun
This chopstick rest is designed with a motif of "yakumono," a descriptive symbol used in printing, such as full stops, punctuation marks, and decorative lines. "Yakumono" is a technique in which a pattern is transferred onto Japanese paper using gosu (blue pigment), then applied to the bisque pottery with a damp brush, and then glazed and fired. During the late Edo and Meiji periods, blue-patterned porcelain was mass-produced using this technique, but due to its handmade nature, it was becoming increasingly rare. This chopstick rest has been meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, allowing you to appreciate the subtle differences unique to each individual inban. The glossy white surface is Hasami ware, made using domestic ceramic stone. The translucent glaze applied over the transferred pattern further enhances its beauty. Source: https://www.sempre.jp/
