Patera 300 E26
This spherical pendant light, composed of countless diamond-shaped cells, radiates a radiance reminiscent of a modern chandelier. Its design incorporates the spiral curves of nature, found in sunflowers and conch shells, and features an intricate pattern based on the Fibonacci sequence. Each cell blocks direct light from the light source, but the openings in the cells allow light to be directed downward at a 45° angle (22.5° left and right), efficiently illuminating the area below. It comes in four sizes, with the smallest, the 300, ideal for low tabletop placement. Designed by Oivind Slaatto, Patera was released in 2015 as a modern interpretation of the classic chandelier. Its soft, 360° light is the result of an intricate design. Patera's countless cells, arranged in various positions, create a natural glow that flatters the surrounding people and space, preventing undesirable sharp shadows. When hung alone, it creates a focal point within the space. Arranging one or more sizes in a row or in a random arrangement creates the same magical sensation one feels when gazing up at the stars. "The ultimate aim was to create a three-dimensional Sudoku puzzle. It was a very mathematical endeavour. In fact, it turned out to be the most complex lighting I have ever designed. There seemed to be an element of poetry to it. I wanted to create a modern chandelier. I hope that people will be inspired to walk around the lamp and look at it from different angles. I hope that they will sense a sense of life in the light." - Øivind Slaat Source: https://www.sempre.jp/
