The PH5 pendant light was developed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 as a lamp that could be used with any light source. This iconic design is based on the principle of Henningsen's three-shade system, which gives off a soft, comfortable light with no glare, making it the perfect dining table lamp. Most of the light is directed downwards, while the sideways light also illuminates the fixture itself, spreading a soft glow from the center of the fixture. In addition, the bottom shade incorporates frosted glass that diffuses the light, making it 100% glare-free even directly below.
