Arne Jacobsen's AJ52 Society Table was designed as a gift for the American-Scandinavian Foundation's new New York office. Its design beautifully blends Bauhaus, functionalism, and industrial design. Its distinctive feature is its elegant tabletop, tightly upholstered in leather, which encases the steel frame. Beneath the tabletop, six wooden drawers are suspended from the steel frame. The slender steel frame and the solid wood legs, which give the drawers a floating appearance, give the desk a light and airy feel.
