This is a replacement core for Susty, which uses a color change to let you know when it's time to water. Depending on the soil environment, it's time to replace it when it no longer turns blue even when watered (approximately every 6 to 9 months). The core of Susty is made from processed natural fibers and is decomposed by microorganisms in the soil. *When replacing, be sure to replace the core, blue sheet, and straw. In rare cases, the straw may remain inside the main unit; if this happens, remove it with tweezers. *The heartwood may turn yellow if stored outside the package.
