SOBA Buckwheat Plate WHITE
In 1994, Fujio Ishimoto produced a ceramic plate for Arabia in Finland, which has been reproduced in porcelain by Tobe kilns. The soft form that gently holds the food, the thin striped lines, and the deep blue coloring are the characteristics of this dish. For the reproduction, the stripes were expressed using the same method as the original, which was to press the unevenness of cardboard against it to make marks. The overall form was created by placing a cloth over a square frame and copying the warped shape. The resulting shape was then bisque-fired and used as the basis for the mold for casting. The glaze was also tested repeatedly to reproduce the deep blue, and after repeated checks, it was completed. Although it is named "SOBA," it is a sophisticated and impressive dish that can hold a variety of dishes, both Japanese and Western, as well as soba, and goes well with both Japanese and Western tableware.
