Fujio Ishimoto spent 50 years in Finland, and his familiar fabrics, "tenugui," have continued to be a favorite of his throughout his time abroad. "SONO," featuring a row of four-petaled flowers, a motif he has used in his textiles and ceramics, is an unpublished design he developed during his time as a textile designer. The brushstrokes seem to convey the artist's movements and breath, exuding a sense of energy and playful freedom. Dyed by Kamawanu, a long-established tenugui manufacturer, using the traditional "chusen" dyeing method, the vibrant colors are reproduced on both sides. The highly absorbent fabric makes it convenient to have one on hand for wiping hands and wet items, wrapping things, wrapping around the neck, or even laying on a table. The more you use it, the more comfortable it becomes to your touch and the more comfortable it becomes in your hand. The design, featuring Mustakivi and "DESIGNED BY FUJIWO ISHIMOTO" tags, distinguishes this fabric from the brand's signature, making it a perfect gift. You can hang it on the separately sold "Tenugui Bar" like a hanging scroll and enjoy it as interior décor. *As it is hand-dyed, there may be some color fading or transfer. *We recommend washing it by hand separately from other items.
