CHUSEN Dyed Hand Towel Karuta
Fujio Ishimoto spent 50 years in Finland, and continued to use tenugui, a familiar fabric, even during his time abroad. This "karuta" (card game) features hiragana characters from "a" to "n" scattered across a white surface. Each character is handwritten by Ishimoto. The playful design allows words to emerge as you pick up the letters on the tenugui. Dyed by the long-established tenugui manufacturer Kamawanu using the traditional "chusen" dyeing method, the vibrant colors are reproduced on both sides. The highly absorbent fabric makes it convenient to have one on hand for wiping hands and wet items, wrapping things, wrapping around the neck, or even laying on a table. The more you use it, the more comfortable it becomes to your touch and the more comfortable it becomes. The Mustakivi and DESIGNED BY FUJIWO ISHIMOTO tags are attached, making it a perfect gift, while still being suitable for everyday use. You can hang it on the separately sold "Tenugui Bar" like a hanging scroll and enjoy it as interior décor. *As it is hand-dyed, there may be some color fading or transfer. *We recommend washing it by hand separately from other items.
