Repeated geometric shapes are a defining feature of the Bouroullec brothers' designs. Their mastery, meticulousness, and tireless ability to always stay one step ahead have resulted in Blur, a collection that carries two distinct meanings. When viewed from afar, the rug appears to have an indefinite, blurred surface, hence the name of the collection (Blur). However, upon closer inspection, lines of varying proportions and rhythmic diamond shapes become apparent. The blurred effect (Blur) is achieved by reversing the traditional kilim weaving method, making the process more laborious. This weaving method blurs the lines and blends the two colors unevenly, resulting in an aged rug that evokes a bygone era.
