Kala Rug 200×300cm
Kaala, meaning "tomorrow" and "art" in Hindi, is the name given to the collection, which combines the culture of Nanimarkina's primary producer, India, with design through the eyes of children. The Kaala collection is created from original drawings by students at the Care & Fair Charity School in India. For each rug sold, 150 euros will be donated to the Amita School in Bhadohi, a charity of the same organization. Nanimarkina has been collaborating with Care & Fair since 2008. Care & Fair is a global association founded in 1994 to combat child labor in Pakistan and India and improve the quality of life for rug makers and their families. The backing of the rug contains latex (a type of synthetic rubber), which tends to discolor, harden, and deteriorate with heat. Therefore, heating the backing with underfloor heating may harden the backing and damage the rug. If using underfloor heating, please use cushioning material between the rug and the floor.
