ARCO Floor Lamp
The Arco Lamp, a masterpiece of modern lighting design from Flos that has been loved worldwide since its introduction in 1962, is a symbol of modern lighting design. True to its name, "Arco" (Arch), its magnificent arched stainless steel pole from its substantial marble base is a well-known feature. Inspired by streetlights, Achille Castiglioni designed it as a pendant light for use in locations where ceiling power is unavailable. The distance from the base to the light source shade is 2.2 meters. This provides an excellent balance, allowing a person to pass behind a chair when the shade is centered over a dining table. It can also be used in situations where a convenient lighting position is not available, such as around a sofa. The shade's double structure allows the light direction to be changed by rotating the outer part. Multiple holes at the top of the shade allow the light to spread throughout the space, rather than shining directly downward like a spotlight. The holes in the marble base are not only a design element, but also a convenient way to lift the base, which weighs approximately 65 kg.
