The Grand Prix chair was first unveiled by Fritz Hansen at the Spring Exhibition held at the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen in 1957. Later that year, it was exhibited at the Milan Triennale, where it won the exhibition's highest award, the Grand Prix. The wooden legs of the Grand Prix chair flare out at a smooth angle, following the steel base of Jacobsen's other molded plywood chairs. This model is a rare chair with wooden legs among Jacobsen's designs. Grand Prix chairs with wooden legs are not stackable. A product of FRITZ HANSEN, Denmark.
