The seat is constructed from nine thin layers of laminated plywood, with beautiful wood grain veneer on the outside, and a combination of horizontal and vertical grains to achieve optimal strength. This design resulted in a chair that is both lightweight and strong, a hallmark of the Series 7. Its slender silhouette, supported by 14mm thin steel pipes, also earned it the nickname "Butterfly Chair." This model features a lacquer finish that conceals the wood grain.
