The Seven Chair (SERIES 7) was released in 1955 as the successor to the Ant Chair. The seat is constructed from nine thin layers of laminated plywood, sandwiched between beautiful wood-grained panels on the outside, with the horizontal and vertical grains aligned for optimal strength. The result is a chair with the lightness and strength characteristic of the Seven Chair. Its light, airy form, supported by thin 14mm steel tubing, has earned it the nickname "butterfly chair."
