The Seven Chair (SERIES 7) was released in 1955 as the successor to the Ant Chair. The seat is made of nine thin layers of laminated plywood, sandwiched between beautiful wood-grained boards on the outside, with the horizontal and vertical grains combined to ensure optimal strength. The result is a chair that is both light and strong, a hallmark of the Seven Chair. Its light appearance, supported by thin 14mm steel pipes, has earned it the nickname the Butterfly Chair.
