ANT Ant Chair 3101
The Ant Chair is a Fritz Hansen masterpiece. Its minimalist form and slender shape make it extremely comfortable. While Arne Jacobsen originally designed the Ant Chair with three legs, the new version features four legs for added stability. It's available in two seat heights. Arne Jacobsen originally designed the Ant Chair for the employee cafeteria of Novo Nordisk, a Danish international pharmaceutical company. While its forward-thinking design initially met with skepticism, Arne Jacobsen himself promised to buy back any unsold chairs, allowing production to continue. However, its minimalist, slender form has more than proven itself, selling millions and earning it the status of a classic. The Ant Chair's shell is made of molded plywood, combining nine layers of veneer and Indian cotton. It's available in natural wood, lacquer (a finish that hides the grain), and colored ash (a finish that reveals the unique grain of each chair). - Natural wood: The exterior of the plywood is finished with a natural wood veneer and a clear lacquer. The distinct grain enhances the chair's organic form. The grain pattern varies from piece to piece. If you prefer a natural look, natural wood is recommended. - Lacquer: The lacquer finish hides the grain, creating a uniform, silky soft surface that allows the color to stand out. - Colored ash: With colored ash, the grain is clearly visible through the color. Unlike a lacquer finish, the chair has an organic feel and the texture of the material is visible. It has the advantage of being a more durable finish than natural wood.
