PK22 Aura Leather Black Brown
Paul Kjærholm was deeply influenced by the master of modern architecture, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The PK22 was designed to surpass Rohe's masterpiece, the Barcelona Chair. Four pieces of steel are joined to two parallel surfaces by a double crossbeam beneath the seat. Unlike the PK25, the chair rests without a rigid edge at the front. The convex curve of the seat and concave curve of the back became a common theme in Kjærholm's work. Its minimalist, functional aesthetic won it the Grand Prix at the 1957 Milan Triennale. Its timeless design is a timeless masterpiece. Aura leather is a durable leather characterized by its firm texture, matte finish, and uniform appearance. Each piece of leather is treated, or "corrected," to enhance durability and protect the surface from light and dust. The synthetic leather treatment virtually obscures natural marks. This durable, collected leather is easy to care for and comfortable to wear. It is popular as an upholstery for furniture in high-use areas. It is a product of FRITZ HANSEN, a Danish company.
