PK22 Rustic Leather
Poul Kjærholm was deeply influenced by the master of modern architecture, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The PK22 was designed to surpass Rohe's masterpiece, the Barcelona Chair. Four pieces of steel are joined to two parallel surfaces by a double crossbeam beneath the seat. Unlike the PK25, the chair offers a restful seat without the distracting hard edges at the front. The convex curve of the seat and concave curve of the back became a common theme in Kjærholm's work. Its minimalist, functional aesthetic won it the Grand Prix at the 1957 Milan Triennale. Its timeless design is renowned for its rustic leather, a premium upholstery crafted from the finest rawhides. The raw surface is dyed with chrome-free vegetable tannins, revealing a beautiful natural pattern that gives each piece of furniture its unique character. The natural patina develops over time depending on the light, usage, and application. This product is from FRITZ HANSEN, Denmark. [Designed in 1956] Source: https://www.sempre.jp/
