PK22 Rattan
Poul Kjærholm was heavily influenced by the master of modern architecture, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. PK22 was designed to surpass Rohe's masterpiece, the Barcelona Chair. Four pieces of steel are joined to two parallel surfaces by a double crossbeam below the seat. Unlike the PK25, the chair allows the user to rest without the hassle of a hard edge at the front of the seat. The convex curve of the seat and the concave curve of the back became a common theme in Kjærholm's work. Its functional beauty, stripped of all unnecessary elements, garnered widespread acclaim, and it won the Grand Prix at the 1957 Milan Triennale. It is known as a timeless masterpiece. It is a product of FRITZ HANSEN, a Danish company. [Designed in 1956] Source: https://www.sempre.jp/
