Sing Sing Sing
This is the first chair made from expanded metal, one of Kuramata's favorite materials. The back and seat are integrated into a flowing S-shaped line. It has a cantilever structure with only the front legs, and the curved armrests that are integrated with the legs create a sense of tension. As there are no rear legs, the legs flex when you sit on them, and despite the metal seat, it is softer than you would imagine. The name comes from a catchy jazz standard. It has not been manufactured for a long time, but has been reissued by Gallery Tamura Joe. Sempre is involved with this chair as a manufacturer, and it is given a plate with a serial number. [Designed in 1985]
