Table Stand Light 1AG
This table lamp (1AG) is part of sculptor Isamu Noguchi's "AKARI" series of light sculptures. It features three thin steel wire legs and is designed to be as lightweight as possible. Its modern gray design elevates any interior, complementing both Japanese and Western-style rooms. The light filtering through the washi paper creates a soft, well-dispersed glow. Sculptor Isamu Noguchi first encountered lanterns in 1951 and began creating AKARI. These lanterns, created with a commitment to Japanese aesthetics, are also known as "light sculptures" and have become beloved worldwide for generations. Each lantern is still handcrafted by artisans at Ozeki, a long-established lantern manufacturer in Gifu, using the original molds. AKARI is also included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The name "Akari" (light) comes from the Japanese character for "sun" (日) and "moon" (月)—meaning "let the light of the sun or moon shine into your room." The kanji characters for the lamp are also composed of the characters for "sun" (日) and "moon" (月). Source: https://www.truss.jp/
