Floor lamp L8+ST2
This floor lamp (L8+ST2) is part of sculptor Isamu Noguchi's "AKARI" series of light sculptures. It features a long pendant shade and a dedicated floor stand. Its striking presence in any corner of a room is complemented by modern styling, elevating both Japanese and Western-style rooms. The light filtering through the washi paper creates a soft, well-dispersed glow. Sculptor Isamu Noguchi began creating AKARI lanterns in 1951. These lanterns, created with a commitment to Japanese aesthetics, are also known as "light sculptures" and have become timeless designs beloved around the world. Each lantern is still handcrafted by artisans at Ozeki, a long-established lantern manufacturer in Gifu, using the original molds. AKARI is also part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The name "Akari" (light) comes from the Japanese character for "sun" (sun) and "moon" (moon). The kanji for the lamp itself is composed of the characters for "sun" (sun) and "moon" (moon). Source: https://www.truss.jp/
