This special edition side shell chair is the result of a collaboration between Modernica, a Los Angeles-based company that produces a variety of modern furniture, and STUSSY Livin' GENERAL STORE. The Side Shell Chair, a representative mid-century product made of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) originally designed by Charles Eames, was designed and produced in Los Angeles, and with the full cooperation of Modernica, which has brought the original Side Shell Chair back to life in the modern era with a production method that can be described as perfect, a new bronze-plated Eiffel base version has been released as part of the collaboration series. The Side Shell Chair is made by the company's skilled craftsmen using the world's only specialized equipment that has been in operation since the 1950s, and is custom-made with the bronze-plated Eiffel base proposed by STUSSY Livin' GENERAL STORE. The Eiffel Base, with its ideal seat height for dining tables and work desks, was once used in a variety of places such as American homes, offices, and public facilities in the 1940s to 1960s, known as the mid-century era, and is still useful in a wide range of situations today. [Product Notes] As it is manufactured by hand using the same manufacturing methods as those used in the 1950s, there may be unevenness in the construction. There may be some burnt fiber or foreign matter mixed in, and the legs may be slightly loose. In addition, since it is imported in a stacked state, there may be dents, scratches, and deterioration of the metal parts. Please note that these are not eligible for defects or exchanges. After delivery, please assemble the product yourself according to the assembly instructions included. (The shell and base are fixed with four screws. Even a beginner can easily assemble it in about 10 minutes with just one screwdriver.) Source: https://www.truss.jp/
