The body is crafted from Finnish birch plywood, showcasing the most beautiful laminated surface. The design showcases the wood's laminated edges, and the lack of surface paint or glue demands meticulous craftsmanship, resulting in a high level of craftsmanship that only a MADE IN JAPAN product can achieve. The surface is crafted from oak or walnut, and comes in three varieties with different grains, colors, and textures. The lids are available in stainless steel or copper, both of which are hand-brushed. The copper (the same material as a 10-yen coin) shines initially, but gradually fades and discolors, revealing a rich, refined appearance over time.
