This is an original mug commissioned by ceramic artist Ian MacDonald for Playmountain, a store directly managed by Landscape Products. It took two years of trial and error to arrive at the black glaze. The matte exterior and glossy interior create a contrast, creating a comfortable feel in the hand. Ian MacDonald not only uses clay, but also utilizes different materials to constantly bring new values to his work. He is currently an artist-in-residence at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where he leads the ceramics department and continues to create his own work. Source: https://www.truss.jp/
