In 1951, Charles and Ray Eames, along with their design staff, began researching bending and joining wire, resulting in the creation of the Wire Mesh Chair. To achieve strength and an organic shape, the Eameses created the chair's frame out of thin wire, with a double structure. Its lightness is also maintained because only the areas that require strength are reinforced. Each rod is carefully bent to create a light and beautiful silhouette. The chair is also recommended for use with counters and bar-type bases, as its design does not feel oppressive. A seat pad is included as standard, providing a plump and resilient seating experience.
