Form Group Sofa 2-seater
We have reissued the "Form Group" seating system, designed by British designer Robin Day in 1960, under the supervision of the Robin & Lucienne Day Foundation. This is a masterpiece sofa by Robin Day, who was active during the British Mid-Century period. It is designed to offer a variety of configurations by flexibly combining a steel frame with cushion forms and tables, allowing you to choose specifications that suit your lifestyle. It is one of Robin Day's representative works, having won the Design Centre Award in 1961. Instead of traditional sofa manufacturing methods that use wood and springs, it adopts a structure where rubber webbing tape supports the seat cushion. The fact that the webbing tape, originally used for the internal structure of sofas, was brought to the surface and elevated as part of the design was acclaimed as the most advanced at the time of its announcement. The two-seater arm sofa is compact at approximately 160cm wide, yet the seat provides a spacious and comfortable lounging area. Furthermore, it firmly supports the body with just the right amount of firmness and elasticity, reducing unnecessary strain on the legs and back and making it easy to stand up as the body does not sink too deeply.
