The Plia chair, a masterpiece by Giancarlo Piretty, was designed in 1969 and is produced by ANONIMA CASTELLI in Italy. It is a foldable, stackable side chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti. Its innovative design, which allows it to fold using only the round metal parts on either side of the seat, has since been imitated by many manufacturers and has become the prototype for today's folding chairs. This functional and beautifully transparent chair has sold over 7 million chairs worldwide since 1969, is part of the MoMA collection, and has won numerous awards. Its slim design folds to a space of just 5cm when folded. It can be stacked even when standing up. It can be folded flat for storage, or stacked upright for compact storage.
