PLIA CHAIR Rattan
The "Plia Chair," a masterpiece and representative work by Giancarlo Piretti, designed in 1969. It is produced by ANONIMA CASTELLI in Italy. This is a foldable and stackable side chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti. Its innovative structure, which allows it to be folded using only the round metal parts on either side of the seat, has since been imitated by many manufacturers and has become the prototype for modern folding chairs. This functional, transparent, and beautiful chair has sold over 7 million units worldwide since 1969, is part of the MoMA collection, and has won numerous awards. It has a slim design, folding down to occupy only about 5 cm of space. It can also be stacked when upright. Not only can it be folded thinly for storage, but it can also be stacked compactly in a self-standing position (either fully open or semi-open). The seat and backrest are upholstered with Kagome-woven rattan on a beechwood frame. The appropriate flexibility of the rattan and the texture unique to natural materials provide a comfortable sitting experience.Source: https://metrocs.jp/
