Curl Pendant Lamp S
The "Curl Pendant Lamp" is an enamel lamp depicting Japanese scenery. It is an enamel lamp made using the "spinning" technique. The shape, where the inside and outside gently invert and curve back, was created by exaggerating the process of rolling the rim outwards, which is typically applied to enamel products for reinforcement and to prevent distortion. The motif for the shape is the roofs of shrines and temples that have shaped the Japanese landscape since ancient times. "Curl" uses the same curves as the majestic curved roofs of shrines. The shade is produced using the sophisticated technique of "spinning," where a metal plate is rotated and a rod called a "spatula" is pressed against it to gradually deform it. We are exploring the shape and thickness of the "base material" that can be curled without rolling the rim outwards, in collaboration with enamel craftsmen. The design was handled by Shuhei Shibayama. The white lamp comes with a white cord. The charcoal gray lamp comes with a black cord.Source: https://metrocs.jp/
