ROBIN DAY POLYSIDE CHAIR Chrome Frame
This is the "ROBIN DAY POLYSIDE CHAIR" designed by Robin Day of Hille, a British company, which is lightweight and stackable. Robin Day, a British designer known as the "British Eames" and a representative of the mid-century period, designed the "Polyside Chair," which in 1963 became the world's first chair to be successfully mass-produced by injection molding. Hille, the company that produces the Polyside Chair, is committed to "Made in Britain" and manufactures everything from materials to molding and assembly within the UK. The extremely lightweight shell structure of the seat is designed to maximize the properties of its polypropylene material. Its resilient and flexible seat conforms to the body when seated, providing exceptional comfort. The timeless design of this chair, which has been used by thousands and tens of thousands of people in hospital waiting rooms, stadium seating, and various public spaces in the UK for over 50 years, is sure to fit in with Japanese settings. Additionally, it is stackable, and the stacked chairs present a very beautiful appearance. In the 1960s, polypropylene was a new material for shells, and this product, designed using a low-cost injection molding manufacturing method, opened up new possibilities for plastics. It has been used in various places, from airports to offices and sports studios, and tens of millions of these chairs have been manufactured over the past 50 years. In 2009, it was selected by Royal Mail as one of eight designs for "British Design Classics" celebrating Britain. The seat comes in 5 colors, and the legs come in 2 finishes. BLACK and WHITE have chrome-plated legs, while PEAT (beige), RED, and TEAL (blue) are paired with dark gray baked-on painted legs.Source: https://metrocs.jp/
