ROBIN DAY POLYSIDE CHAIR Chrome Frame
The lightweight, stackable "ROBIN DAY POLYSIDE CHAIR" by Robin Day of the UK's Hille company is a design by Robin Day, a leading mid-century British designer known as the British Eames. In 1963, the Polyside Chair was the world's first chair to be mass-produced using injection molding. Hille, the manufacturer of the Polyside Chair, is committed to "Made in Britain," manufacturing everything from materials to molding and assembly in the UK. The extremely lightweight shell structure of the seat maximizes the benefits of the polypropylene material. Its resilient, flexible seat conforms to your body, providing exceptional comfort. Used by thousands of people in hospital waiting rooms, stadium seats, and other public spaces for over 50 years, the chair's timeless design is sure to find a home in Japan. Its stackable design creates a striking aesthetic when stacked. Designed in the 1960s, the shell material was a new concept, but was then manufactured using low-cost injection molding. It opened up new possibilities for plastics. Used in a variety of locations, from airports to offices and sports studios, tens of millions of chairs have been produced over the past 50 years. In 2009, Royal Mail selected it as one of eight designs in its "British Design Classics" celebrating Britain. The chair is available in five seat colors and two leg finishes. The black and white versions feature chrome-plated legs, while the peat, red, and teal versions feature dark gray baked-on legs. Source: https://www.truss.jp/
