City Hall Wall Clock Φ16cm
This wall clock, produced by Rosendahl, is a faithful reproduction of the "City Hall Clock," designed by Arne Jacobsen for the Rodvoor City Hall in Denmark in 1955. Arne Jacobsen, one of Denmark's leading 20th century designers, was a master of all things architectural and interior design, and his philosophy was that minimalism, stripped down to the bare minimum, was the most beautiful and functional form possible. The "City Hall Clock" is a prime example of this, prioritizing legibility and featuring only white and non-reflective matte black. The hands and hour markers are all elongated track-shaped, with only round minute markers, creating a truly practical design. Yet, the beauty of this design is perhaps the greatest testament to his design prowess. The crystal glass on the front is beautifully curved, and the dial, which is curved in the opposite direction to the crystal glass and meets it smoothly without any side walls, creates a beautiful finish that does not feel thick, and is an impeccable masterpiece worthy of being called a masterpiece. The main body is raised a few centimeters from the wall, casting soft shadows on the wall and creating an exquisite three-dimensional effect.
