STATION Wall Clock Φ16cm
This wall clock is the legendary "STATION" design by Arne Jacobsen, produced in 1943 as part of a project with Lauritz Knudsen and the first table clock to hit the market. While soft, handwritten fonts were the norm in Europe at the time, Jacobsen adopted a font that emphasized legibility over aesthetics, in keeping with the German Bauhaus philosophy of functional beauty. This resulted in a clock that was simple and suited to any space. This clock design quickly spread throughout Denmark. Train stations are places where the majority of citizens need to see a clock, so this simple, universal clock design was adopted for railway stations, blending in naturally as if it had always been there, becoming an important tool for telling time to many people. The Lauritz Knudsen Museum houses clocks with the same font as "STATION" in its collection. Arne Jacobsen, a leading 20th-century Danish designer who worked on everything from architecture to interior design, believed that minimalism, stripped away from all ornamentation, was the most beautiful and functional form. The beautifully curved crystal and the inversely curved dial, which meet smoothly without any side walls, create a design that feels thin and flawless, making this a masterpiece worthy of being called a masterpiece. The watch itself is raised a few centimeters above the wall, casting soft shadows and creating an exquisite three-dimensional effect. Source: https://www.truss.jp/
